"The marsh, to him who enters it in a receptive mood, holds, besides mosquitoes and stagnation, melody, the mystery of unknown waters, and the sweetness of Nature undisturbed by man."

~ Charles William Beebe (1877-1962),
Log of the Sun, 1906

The Tiverton High School Strings gathered under the tent to play some opening numbers for A Country Day at Pardon Gray - 2012 held on September 15th. The music had a magic touch as the sun began to peak through the clouds and the crowds began to arrive - the largest crowd ever for this event. Volunteers parked cars, supervised games, served pie, took visitors for an up-close look at farm animals, showed off antique tractors and fire trucks, lifted young 'drivers' onto fire truck seats, conducted a hay wagon ride around the property. When the day ended, the Tiverton Land Trust had raised money to help us conserve, preserve, and maintain wildlife habitat and hiking trails in Tiverton.  Pictures of the day are below.
