"The marsh, to him who enters it in a receptive mood, holds, besides mosquitoes and stagnation, melody, the mystery of unknown waters, and the sweetness of Nature undisturbed by man."

~ Charles William Beebe (1877-1962),
Log of the Sun, 1906

Paul Matthews, an Eagle Scout candidate from Troop 82, has been constructing two benches for Pardon Gray Preserve, one to replace the decaying bench in front of the kiosk. Paul became an Eagle Scout after completing his project at Pardon Gray Preserve. Wayne Browning, the TLT’s Land Management Coordinator and Paul’s advisor on the project, was asked to speak at Paul’s Eagle Court of Honor in March. Wayne discussed the TLT, Pardon Gray Preserve, and the importance of land preservation.
