Walnut Hunt

Walnut Hunt, Saturday, October 10

The TLT invited children and their families to come and help clean up the bumper crop of walnuts that fell at Pardon Gray Preserve this fall. Children were paid a nominal fee for each nut they collected. In a two hour period 6 kids collected over 6,800 walnuts and walked off with a total of $68 among them. The nuts were put into a wheelbarrow and carted to a compost pile.
